Bavarian Wine

from EP#1 by Kirsty Venters Marks

/

about

You know when you just want to preserve a moment forever? You can't stop time, but you just want to hold on to something beautiful. So, this song takes me back to one of those summer evenings, spent by a Bavarian lake, basking in all the good things life has to give.

lyrics

A few more sips before this bottle's done
And only memory will hold the taste
Of ambered moments locked in meadow sun
The wooded island by the lake embraced

CHORUS
Ever mine, ever mine
All this is ever mine

We drank a glass or two as evening fell
And walked in lilac through the day's retreat
Intoxicated gently by its spell
As darkness blossomed, tempering the heat

CHORUS

And though barely a mouthful now remains
A steadfast little moat at bottle's end
The spiced and subtle flavour it maintains
Allowing time beyond time to extend

But those bright drops still there are ever mine
While new grapes grow and ripen on the vine

CHORUS
